About the Catering Unit

The Catering Unit is responsible for all food served at the hospital. Patients receive meals on the wards, while staff and relatives can eat at our restaurant, Kajutan, or buy food from our refrigerators at the hospital and at some of the region's facilities outside the hospital.

Patient meals are prepared from scratch in our production kitchen, located approximately 3 km from the hospital. Here, a Head Chef, chefs, and kitchen assistants work together to produce and pack meal boxes, which are then sent to the hospital and distributed to wards and patients.

Food is crucial for patient recovery, but it is also vital for maintaining a vibrant rural landscape in Jämtland and Norrland, supporting farmers, entrepreneurs, and ensuring good food security.

Responsibilities

1 position available.

Together with three coordinators, you drive the practical work of the Catering Unit forward. Your main responsibility is the production kitchen.

Leadership and collaboration are important to you. You dare to take a stand, are humble, and understand that a strong and secure team is what drives development forward.

You have a deep understanding and knowledge of food and food production, and your experience from restaurants or large-scale catering is solid. You enjoy developing yourself and your work methods – not just recipes and dishes, but also planning and execution. Perhaps you dare to think outside the box occasionally.

You are familiar with administrative systems such as Heroma, diet data systems, invoicing systems, and self-control routines.

In your daily work, you are responsible for the entire production process, which may involve ensuring gas flow is correct, machinery functions properly, and there is sufficient staffing in production. You are handy, not afraid to get your hands dirty, and willing to help out where needed.

You handle conflicts with both courage and humility, contributing to a safe and positive work environment. In terms of preparedness, you dare to look forward and think outside the box, so that together we can see opportunities instead of obstacles.

Qualifications

Chef training or experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
5 years of experience from restaurants/large-scale catering.
Experience from similar work is meritorious.
Good knowledge and experience with Office.
Knowledge of administrative systems is meritorious.
Interest and experience in leadership.
Dare to be humble, courageous, and unpretentious.
Knowledge and experience working with diet data systems is meritorious.
Experience and knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP.
